Job summary

American Wood Fibers (AWF) in Jessup, MD is seeking a FIRST Shift Shipping Coordinator to oversee daily shipping and logistics operations at the Jessup plant. The role focuses on meeting customer and supplier requirements efficiently and accurately.

You will collaborate with Sales, Transportation, and Operations, manage documentation, monitor deliveries, and support shipping staff. This position offers a full-time, on-site schedule with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience in Customer Service, Logistics or Transportation.
• Understanding of logistics transactions, processes, and documentation.
• Customer-centric orientation with professional email/phone responsiveness.
• Intermediate MS Office skills and ability to learn company systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Transportation, and Operations to exceed customer expectations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to customers, suppliers, and carriers.
• Coordinate shipment logistics with internal and external teams for smooth operations.
• Process shipping documentation including Bills of Lading and instructions.
• Monitor delivery exceptions and resolve issues promptly.
• Support and train shipping staff and assist with loading as needed.
• Use Real Time Freight (RTF) to post loads, pickups, and deliveries.
