Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a 1st Shift Quality Technician in Hesston, KS. The role runs 6:30am-3:00pm and starts pay at $20.35 per hour.

You will inspect materials, components, and finished goods to ensure quality, using fixed gauges and other measuring tools, and work with teams to resolve defects. Responsibilities include coordinating with production and QA on corrective actions, inspecting samples, and ensuring compliance with customer specs and internal standards.

Qualifications

• Routinely utilizes quality standards to inspect parts, products and processes.
• Confers with management and value streams on defective parts or products.
• Works with QA personnel on corrective and preventive actions.
• Processes defective internal and supplier parts as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and tests incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
• Uses fixed or pre-set measuring instruments and compares to established samples for quality and appearance.
• Communicates non-conformities with internal departments and supplier representatives and suggests improvements.
• Works with Production Supervisors to approve re-work products.
• Collaborates with Quality Assurance Engineers and value stream personnel on corrective actions.
• Inspects periodic samples of in-process parts for defects and weld quality.
• Operates inspection equipment such as gauges, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and portable CMM.
• Rejects defective parts and notifies the supervisor or supplier.
