Job summary

Dane Manufacturing Company in Wisconsin is seeking a Metal Punch Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC turret punch presses or manual punch machines to produce sheet metal components according to specifications. You will read blueprints, adjust tooling, inspect parts with calipers and gauges, and document production data in ERP systems.

This role requires 1–3 years of punch machine experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
1–3 years of experience operating metal punch machines or turret presses.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency with measuring tools and quality inspection methods.
Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer/CNC programming knowledge.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate metal punch machines (CNC turret or manual) to cut, form, and shape sheet metal parts.
Load, position, and secure metal sheets for punching operations.
Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Inspect parts for accuracy and quality using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and job instructions.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report malfunctions or safety concerns.
Record production output, downtime, and quality checks in logs or ERP system.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; support continuous improvement.
