Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking an assembler to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies for our products. You will study assembly instructions and blueprints, gather parts, and position components for accurate assembly.

Responsibilities include measuring, testing fit, and adjusting dimensions to meet specifications while maintaining safety and efficiency. Experience in a technical setting and forklift operation are beneficial for this on-site Wisconsin role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a highly technical environment.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Experience with light electrical assembly and/or heavy equipment assembly.
• Forklift experience.
• Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of reading blueprints and torque values.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and coordinate with other departments.
• Aptitude to take and execute orders accurately.
• High school degree, diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, self-motivation and multi-tasking.
• Good finger and hand dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specs and parts lists, gathering parts and materials.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assembles components by checking connections for fit and fastening parts.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
• Identifies and resolves assembly problems by adjusting dimensions and notifying supervisor.
• Maintains equipment by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Keeps a safe, clean work environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
• Manages supplies by checking stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
• Conserves resources by efficient use of equipment and materials.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contributes to team efforts by achieving related results.
