Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in West Springfield, MA is seeking a production inspector to oversee inspection before, during, and after processing and to operate required machinery safely.

You will maintain a clean, safe work area, follow ROUTER procedures, and work with limited supervision to ensure part quality. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic hand tools usage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read process traveler and fill out completed operations.
• Ability to perform simple cleaning operations.
• Ability to assist as a helper to trained operators.
• Able to follow verbal and written direction.
• Able to use basic hand tools such as wrenches and clamps.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspection of the part before, during, and after processing.
• Competently operates all machinery and instruments necessary to safely perform the job function, including routine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Able to locate and understand relevant Quality system documentation in the Valence computer system.
• Understand, and perform steps defined in the Valence ROUTER, follow Valence procedures on correctly filling out routers, corrections of input mistakes and notification of superior for all other router related problems.
• Competently process parts with little or no supervision.
• Practice behavior which avoids damage to parts and protects the part from damage.
