Job summary

Summit Employment Professionals in Wichita is seeking an experienced MIG welder for first shift to plan, assemble and weld fabricated components. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of welding experience, with knowledge of safety practices. Schedule is Mon–Fri 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m., with opportunities to advance based on productivity and quality.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years’ related welding experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and measurements.
  • Knowledge of metal properties and welding safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work details and gather tools/materials per job instructions.
  • Weld and fabricate components using MIG/TIG/stick processes.
  • Monitor welding quality to prevent overheating and distortion.
  • Assemble and tack weld parts; trim and fit as needed.
  • Operate cutting tools (flame/plasma) and verify specifications.
