Job summary

Fair Oaks Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 1st shift in Davenport, IA. You will conduct machine setup, troubleshoot, repair, and provide preventive maintenance to packaging and production equipment.

Requirements include a 1-year certificate or technical training with 6–12 months of related experience; experience in food or meat processing is strongly preferred; excellent communication and organizational skills are needed to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical training; exposure to meat processing equipment
• 2 years of related experience in food strongly preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test, and adjust.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and electrical functions.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, report those and any unusual situations to supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
