Job summary

A. M. Castle & Co. in Illinois is seeking a production equipment operator to run assigned machines, adjust settings to meet customer orders, and perform routine maintenance.

Hours are 5am to 1:30pm with a compensation range of $19-$20/hr plus incentive eligibility. The role requires certification in operating equipment, basic measurement and math skills, and the ability to work overtime as needed. Qualifications

• Capable of being certified in assigned equipment (forklift, Raymond side-loader, overhead crane, etc.)
• Basic measurement competency
• Basic math competency
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse environment
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work scheduled overtime and emergency/mandatory overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates assigned machine(s) that produce products in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Safely adjusts and utilizes machine according to exact customer order requirements.
• Notices and reports defects and/or excessive wear and tear of equipment; Performs set-up and preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• May assist with Warehouse Operator responsibilities as needed.
