Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a First Shift Laser Operator to join our production team. You will set up and operate laser systems, load/unload materials, and run production programs to meet customer specifications.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in manufacturing, the ability to read blueprints, and solid math and computer skills. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
• Demonstrated math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser equipment for production.
• Load and unload material, run production programs.
• Maximize machine run time and productivity per schedule.
• Read part drawings/blueprints to ensure correct cuts.
• Adjust speeds/feeds and focus for quality cuts.
• Measure dimensions with precision instruments to specs.
• Resolve quality and mechanical problems with minor adjustments.
• Inspect/maintain workspace and equipment for safety.
• Perform preventative maintenance daily/weekly.
• Set up future jobs on other lasers while operating.
