Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a First Shift Laser Operator to join our Dodge County production team in Wisconsin. You will set up and operate the laser, load and unload material, and run the required production programs.

Candidates need a minimum of 2+ years in manufacturing, the ability to read blueprints, perform precise measurements, and good math/computer skills. You will ensure orders are completed on schedule, maintain safety, perform preventative maintenance, and help optimize machine

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to problem solve, multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to read blueprints; proficient math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Read part drawings and blueprints to ensure parts meet specs.
  • Set up and operate laser; load/unload material and run programs.
  • Adjust speeds, feeds and focus for quality cuts and machine efficiency.
  • Measure dimensions with precision tools to verify conformance.
  • Resolve quality issues and perform minor equipment adjustments.
  • Inspect/workplace and equipment for safety; perform daily/weekly maintenance.
  • Set up future jobs on other lasers while machines run.

What You Will Do:

The Laser Operator will manage laser operations including setting up and operating laser, loading and unloading material, and running the required production programs.

  • Ensure that customer orders are completed according to schedule, while maximizing machine run time and productivity.
  • Read part drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure parts are cut to customer specifications.
  • Modify cut conditions, speeds, feeds and focus to ensure quality cut, and optimal machine operation
  • Measure and inspect dimensions of in-process and finished product using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications for quality.
  • Resolve quality and mechanical problems, making minor equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain workplace and equipment for compliance with safety requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Set up future jobs on other lasers while machines are operating and cutting.
What You Bring:
