Job summary

Jagemann Stamping is seeking a Journeyman Machinist to operate advanced equipment in a temperature-controlled tool room. You will verify dimensional accuracy with precision instruments, set up and run machines, and optimize parameters for target surface finishes.

You will also program CNC machines, develop fixtures, manage tooling, and mentor apprentices while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus machining or metalworking training.
• Mazak programming certification required.
• Partial completion of company-specified Machine Tool Operation curriculum.
• CAD/CAM and Solutionware training.
• 1-3 years of toolroom and CNC machining experience.
• Proficiency in CNC setup and operation.
• Strong knowledge of material machining characteristics.
• Familiarity with Environmental Health & Safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and precision grinding machines.
• Plan work sequences and determine cutting parameters.
• Work to close tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
• Write and edit CNC programs.
• Calculate dimensional relationships and input data to machine controllers.
• Develop fixtures and soft jaws for non-standard parts.
• Select cutting tools and manage tool inventory.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC equipment.
• Mentor CNC operators and apprentices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow EHS procedures.
