Job summary

FXI's High Point, NC facility is seeking a Looper Assistant to operate the Looper, prepare foam buns for cutting, and ensure quality and safety standards are met across the shift. This role focuses on machine operation, material prep, and adherence to procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will perform daily equipment checks, verify foam type and specs, document batch information, label rolls, and assist with conveyors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills to update records.
• Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Attention to detail for measuring and documenting foam output.
• Stand, lift, and bend for the full shift; good stamina.
• Safety-focused mindset and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Operates the Looper following all safety procedures.
• Performs daily equipment checks before the shift.
• Prepares foam buns for cutting (trimming, gluing).
• Verifies foam type, run number, dimensions, and specs before cutting.
• Ensures materials are not on hold (Q/S hold).
• Slits buns according to work order instructions.
• Measures length, width, gauge, and thickness for accuracy.
• Completes batch information and roll measurement forms.
• Generates and applies roll labels.
• Records and reports waste daily.
• Operates conveyors to move rolls to other machines.
• May operate a forklift.
• Keeps workstation clean; removes scrap material.
• Reports equipment problems to supervisors or maintenance.
