Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is hiring for a 1st shift facility janitor. The role entails cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining building interiors and grounds. You will follow standard work and checklists, ensure safety, and support plant operations.

The job requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of janitorial experience, and the ability to work 6AM–2PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends. ESOP and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Requires 18+ years of age and ability to stand 8–10 hours.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• Proven janitorial experience and ability to read/write English to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Must meet company standards for reliability, integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties to maintain building cleanliness and organization.
• Clean, sanitize and stock restrooms/locker rooms.
• Clean, dust, wipe, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty trash.
• Maintain exterior grounds and landscape around buildings and fence lines.
• Clean windows, lunchrooms, and common areas.
• Rotate through all janitorial responsibilities as needed.
