Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is seeking a detail-oriented janitor to maintain and protect assigned areas. You will follow standard work, perform cleaning, minor repairs to fixtures, sanitize restrooms, dust, mop, and empty wastebaskets on a 1st shift (6 AM–2 PM) Monday to Friday.

Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of janitorial experience, ability to read and follow instructions in English, and the stamina to work up to 12 hours including weekends

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of professional janitorial experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Able to stand for 8–10 hours and work up to 12 hours daily, including weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard work and daily checklists to perform tasks to standard.
• Clean and make minor repairs to fixtures (lights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, gutters, drains).
• Sanitize and stock restrooms/locker rooms.
• Dust, wipe furniture, sweep/mop/vacuum floors.
• Empty and sanitize wastebaskets; manage trash.
• Use ladders when required by tasks.
• Maintain grounds and landscape around buildings and fence lines.
• Clean indoor windows and sanitize lunchroom surfaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
