Job summary

BARNES is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain facility machinery in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace. You will diagnose issues in hydraulic and electrical systems, read blueprints, and work with vendors to ensure uptime.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask under deadlines. A high school diploma or GED is required, with apprenticeship or an associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in a manufacturing environment preferred, aerospace a plus.
• In-depth electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics.
• Must read blueprints, electrical, machining, hydraulics & building maintenance schematics.
• Experience with industrial production systems, plumbing, control systems, welding and hydraulics.
• Ability to operate a drill press, power tools, measuring instruments and voltmeters.
• Strong attention to detail; can multitask and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental standards and procedures.
• Repairs and maintains facility machinery and equipment via preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors to repair equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems; inspect devices for issues.
• Suggest process improvements to increase machine efficiency and uptime.
• Prioritize daily tasks to keep facility running and on schedule.
