Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Sterling Heights, MI seeks a Maintenance Electrical Mechanic for first shift to perform skilled electrical maintenance on industrial stamping equipment. You will troubleshoot, install, and service electrical and electronic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and related machinery to meet production schedules while adhering to MIOSHA safety standards.

The role requires mechatronics education, experience with CNCs and stamping presses, and capability to work at heights.

Qualifications

• Mechatronics technician degree with mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of CNCs, stamping presses and related machinery.
• Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet.
• Knowledge of building codes and safe electrical practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journey-level work in construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment in an industrial stamping facility.
• Install and maintain building electrical systems and wiring for machines and conveyors.
• Diagnose and repair CNCs, transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, servo systems, hydraulic and pneumatic controls, and HMIs.
• Maintain 5S, safety procedures, and MAFACT/continuous improvement efforts.
• Complete documentation and preventive maintenance tasks on time.
