Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking a skilled Mechatronics/Electrical Technician to perform journey-level maintenance in a stamping facility in Sterling Heights, MI. You will install, test, and repair electrical control systems for presses and automation equipment, ensuring uptime and safety.

The role requires experience with PLCs and CNC systems, ability to read schematics, and a commitment to 5S and process improvements. Must have own tools or access to required tools.

Qualifications

• Mechatronics technician degree or equivalent
• Strong ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems and repair with precision
• Knowledge of CNCs, stamping presses and related machinery

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journey-level electrical/electronic maintenance in an industrial stamping facility to meet production schedules and safety standards.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical control equipment, wiring, and related components for presses and machinery.
• Diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot electrical/logic circuits, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support 5S, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the Maintenance Department.
