Job summary

Rackspace Technology in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Third Shift Data Center Operations Technician IV to own IT infrastructure inside the data center, ensuring customer environments remain secure and up with 99.999% uptime.

You will monitor tickets, perform OS installs, RAID configurations, and hardware upgrades across Windows, RHEL, Ubuntu, and VMware ESX, including cabling and Layer 1 network work. This is an on-site full-time role with potential incentives.

Qualifications

Experience maintaining IT infrastructure in a data center.
Ability to install and troubleshoot multiple operating systems.
Hardware and network hardware installation experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor and prioritize internal tickets to provide customer support.
Perform storage/configuration tasks, RAID changes, and OS installs.
Support servers across Windows, RHEL, Ubuntu, and VMware ESX platforms.
Handle OS/networking setup, PXE installs, and firmware updates.
Install or modify fiber/copper cabling and test connectivity.
Install network devices: switches, firewalls, load balancers, security appliances.
Mount hardware in cabinets and complete cabling for customer requests.
