Job summary

Ethos is seeking a Machinist for 1st shift to set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills, producing precision components for large equipment in a low-volume environment.

You will read blueprints, select tooling and parameters, write CNC programs, and inspect parts with precision instruments to ensure conformance to spec. Collaboration with fabrication and assembly teams is essential for on-time flow.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC and manual machine tools in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
• Experience setting up and running lathes and mills in a low-volume production setting.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and GD&T basics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection methods.
• Working knowledge of CNC setup and program editing (Fanuc or similar controls).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes to print specifications.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods for each job.
• Write, modify, and verify CNC programs; troubleshoot during production.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Report equipment issues promptly and coordinate with supervisors to maintain flow.
