Job summary

The Ohio State University, Lima campus, invites applications for a Custodial Worker position. Under general supervision, you will care for building interiors, floors, rugs, walls, drapes and fixtures, with shifts that may vary. You will also handle snow removal and report maintenance needs.

Experience in custodial work is preferred. The target hiring range is $15.30-19.50/hour, with offers based on experience and equity within the department.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety practices required.
• Skill in operating cleaning equipment.
• Ability to use whole numbers and perform light lifting 25–75 lb.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, polishes, and renews floor surfaces.
• Cleans and shampoos rugs and carpets.
• Washes walls and cleans, dusts, empties trash receptacles.
• Removes and hangs drapes.
• Removes snow and ice from walkways.
• Reports need for equipment repair.
• Reports evidence of fire, unauthorized entry or theft.
• Checks in supplies and stocks supply closets.
