Job summary

JM Dining Group is hiring dependable Barista & Deli Sandwich Attendants for its cafeteria in downtown Washington, DC. Responsibilities include espresso drinks, deli sandwiches, cashier duties, and customer service.

The role requires ServSafe certification; prior barista/food-service experience is preferred. Available for first shift 6:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Part-time and full-time opportunities with a consistent daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have ServSafe or equivalent food-handler certification.
• Previous barista, café, deli, sandwich-making, or food-service experience preferred.
• Available for first shift 6:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
• Dependable, punctual, able to arrive on time for early shifts.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
• Prepare fresh deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, and grab-and-go items.
• Take customer orders and operate the POS system.
• Maintain stocked coffee, deli, pastry, and grab‑and‑go displays.
• Restock ingredients, cups, packaging, beverages, and supplies.
• Follow recipes, portioning standards, and food-prep procedures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control requirements.
• Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Work with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
