JM Dining Group is hiring dependable and customer-focused Barista & Deli Sandwich Attendants for our cafeteria in downtown Washington, DC. This position combines coffee preparation, deli sandwich production, cashier responsibilities, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
- Prepare fresh deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, and grab-and-go items.
- Take customer orders and accurately operate the POS system.
- Maintain attractive and fully stocked coffee, deli, pastry, and grab-and-go displays.
- Restock ingredients, cups, packaging, beverages, and supplies.
- Follow recipes, portioning standards, and food-preparation procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-control requirements.
- Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Work efficiently with the kitchen and front-of-house team.
Requirements
- Must have a current ServSafe or equivalent food-handler certification.
- Previous barista, café, deli, sandwich-making, or food-service experience is preferred.
- Must be available to work the first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to arrive on time for early-morning shifts.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must follow workplace appearance, sanitation, and safety standards.
