Job summary

Roboligent, an Austin-based robotics company, seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer to own supplier quality, build process documentation, and pilot production in a fast-growing environment.

You will establish inspection criteria, run-in and pre-service screening, investigate failures, and drive corrective actions as the fleet scales from pilot to high-volume production. On-site role in Austin.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or process engineering for electromechanical products.
• Direct supplier quality experience: qualifying vendors, incoming inspection criteria, corrective action to closure.
• Experience taking a product from low-volume build into repeatable production.
• Structured root-cause methodology (8D, 5-Why, fishbone) applied to real failures.
• Able to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics fluently.
• Useful: run-in/burn-in screen design, reliability methods (Weibull, MTBF), ISO 9001, CE marking familiarity, overseas supplier management.
• Degrees are useful signal, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier quality lifecycle from qualification to corrective actions.
• Develop build instructions, inspection points, torque and fastener specs, poka-yoke.
• Lead pilot build, document process, and generate defensible build-hours-per-unit and yield data.
• Run-in and pre-service screening for every unit before shipping.
• Investigate failures and drive corrective actions; maintain failure-mode catalogue.
• Manage design-change loop until it lands into controlled documents.
• Track reliability metrics as the fleet scales (MTBF, per-unit uptime).
