Job summary

Security First Managers is seeking an experienced first party property Staff Attorney to settle disputes arising from claims and conduct research and writing on complex legal issues as part of the Security First litigation team.

The role manages a caseload of litigated files and provides strategic guidance on claims, litigation exposure, and case outcomes, including leading and mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance with onsite/hybrid work requirements.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 1–5 years of first party property experience including trial experience OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Company in moderate-risk litigation matters, including trials, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Review, evaluate, and manage assigned cases from inception through resolution.
• Provide legal counsel on claims, litigation exposure, and case outcomes.
• Develop and execute litigation plans in collaboration with Litigation Examiners/Specialists.
• Conduct depositions, manage discovery, prepare motions, and handle court proceedings.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate settlements within authority levels.
• Analyze complex legal issues, assess risks and costs, and recommend solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee staff performance and workload.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support reporting and trend analysis.
