Job Description
- Analyze complex first-party property insurance policies and coverage issues
- Advise insurance clients throughout claim investigation and pre-suit coverage analysis
- Handle first-party property coverage disputes from initial investigation through litigation and resolution
- Conduct examinations under oath and participate in depositions
- Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
- Work with experts and consultants regarding complex commercial and residential property losses
- Represent clients in mediations, hearings, negotiations, and other dispute-resolution proceedings
- Develop litigation and settlement strategies based on policy language, damages, and claim exposure
- Manage multiple active matters while meeting client reporting and litigation deadlines
- Collaborate with experienced coverage attorneys on complex and high-value insurance disputes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of first-party property coverage experience
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing
- Experience analyzing property insurance policies and coverage issues
- Experience with EUOs, depositions, pleadings, motions, or mediations preferred
- Commercial or residential property coverage litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent client communication, organization, and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple active matters and urgent deadlines
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, team-first approach
