Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD, is seeking a skilled plant operator to run boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment under general supervision. A high school diploma and Maryland First Grade license are required, with at least one year of related experience in a large steam and refrigeration plant.

You will monitor EMS, perform inspections, logs, and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and boiler room equipment, and respond to service calls across the GBMC campus, always

Qualifications

• 1-year related experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a large steam and refrigeration plant.
• Valid State of Maryland First Grade license
• Valid State of Maryland driver’s license
• High School diploma

Responsibilities

• Observes boilers and related equipment continuously to ensure operation per instructions.
• Makes scheduled inspections and performs corrective repairs; reports major problems to supervisor.
• Maintains a log on gauges and meters (steam, water, gas, and air pressure).
• Tests water systems and adjusts chemicals to prevent scale and corrosion.
• Monitors EMS computer system per program and logs actions.
• Takes and relays service calls to Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Mechanic.
• Performs housekeeping and painting duties in plant areas to maintain safety.
• Responds to service calls across the GBMC campus.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all plant equipment and systems.
