Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Kansas State teaching license in Elementary Education (K-9) or Elementary Education (K-6)
• Must be able to teach First Grade within USD 259 for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction and facilitates student learning using current best practices and strategies in all courses study.
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons and communicates those objectives to students, parents, and peers as appropriate.
• Creates effective lesson plans to guide daily instruction.
• Collaborates with staff to meet educational needs of students.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
• Administers assessments and informs parents of progress.
• Maintains classroom discipline and a conducive learning environment.
• Communicates with parents and schedules progress meetings.
• Works with Special Education or ESOL to implement appropriate modifications.
• Participates in faculty meetings and professional development.
