Job summary

Providence Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a First Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our Agronomy Team. This role supports the Superintendent in daily maintenance of tees, greens, fairways and irrigation, with opportunities for professional growth.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 year turf certificate/degree, prior assistant or crew supervision experience, strong problem solving and communication skills, and a valid driver's license; NC pesticide license eligibility

Qualifications

2-4 year Turf Certificate/Degree required.
Previous Assistant and/or crew management experience highly preferred.
Must have good problem solving and communication skills.
Valid Driver’s License required. If you do not have a NC Pesticide License, we will help you obtain one.

Responsibilities

Oversee, direct, and participate in daily maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths.
Supervise maintenance/repair of motorized and other equipment; operate and calibrate pesticide application equipment if needed.
May serve in the Superintendent's capacity during absence; assist in planning and supervising maintenance; schedule work and supervise employees.
Instruct operators on equipment use; supervise pesticide applications and irrigation system maintenance; ensure safety and environmental standards.
