Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a Day shift Certified Surgical Technologist/First Assist to join our surgical team. The role focuses on assisting physicians intra-operatively, including draping, suturing, and exposure of the surgical field, across patients of all ages.

Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or PA/nursing path, with certification or licensure as applicable. Prior OR experience is preferred to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program or nursing school, or diploma/certificate in surgical technology.
• Certified by the Association of Surgical Technologists or licensed as RN/PA/MD.
• Two years OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist as first assistant in the intra-operative phase, including draping, suturing, clamping and exposure of the surgical field.
• Support the surgical team across neonatal to geriatric patients during procedures.
