Job summary

Technical-Link N. America is seeking a hands-on Firmware Validation Engineer to join the Firmware - Connectivity and Audio team. You will own day-to-day test execution, build and expand test content, and drive defect quality across in-cabin connected experiences.

This role emphasizes validation-first testing, root-cause analysis with logs, and collaboration with firmware, product, and integration teams to ensure feature readiness for field deployment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on validation/QA in firmware or embedded products.
• Proven in test plans, case execution, and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G, GNSS, or vehicle networking.
• Strong log triage and debugging using Wireshark, DLT, ADB, and traces.
• Proficient in Python scripting and Linux/Ubuntu environments.
• Experience with JIRA/Confluence and agile release cycles.

Responsibilities

• Manual feature validation for Audio and streaming on bench and in-vehicle.
• Author and expand test content and maintain documentation.
• Identify coverage gaps and track coverage health for each feature.
• Reproduce defects, capture logs, and determine root cause.
• Triage field issues and drive them to closure with teams.
• Manage defects end-to-end in JIRA with clear steps and logs.
• Maintain test benches and diagnostic setups to stay release-ready.
• Collaborate with firmware, product, and integration teams on readiness.
