Job summary

Matic is hiring a firmware engineer in Menlo Park to bridge software and hardware across our home robotics platform. You will work on the firmware stack for our wall-cleaning robot, implementing robust controls, sensor interfaces, and data-driven debugging on-device.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of industry experience or equivalent (e.g., grad school).
Strong core software skills: data structures, control flow, computer systems.
Deep experience with systems programming languages: C, C++, Rust, etc.
Experience with scripting/prototyping languages: Python, etc.
Experience with hardware: motors, sensors, electronics fundamentals, and mechanical intuition.

Responsibilities

Bring-up and support for hardware changes (electrical and mechanical) and update device drivers.
Design and improve behavioral logic and controls for physical systems.
Analyze robot logs and sensor data to debug hardware failures.
Develop tooling to interface with motors and sensors.
