Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Louisville, KY is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to design, develop, and integrate hardware and firmware for advanced aerospace programs, including F-35 and Skunk Works initiatives.

You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to FPGA and embedded system development across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems such as FPGAs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Hardware Development Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating hardware and software components that power next generation aircraft and mission systems. Your work will directly support the F 35, F 16, and Skunk Works initiatives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Utilizing SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL to create robust FPGA IP cores.
• Participating in all phases of hardware and software development, from concept through verification.
• Driving Skunk Works research and development efforts on emerging technologies.
• Creating architecture, logic designs, and system simulations for complex embedded systems.
• Performing simulation and analysis of FPGA and embedded system designs to ensure performance and reliability.

Responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of software and troubleshooting code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications. Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems. Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design. Typically programs in machine language, assembly language and high level languages (e.g., C, C++).

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems, such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays or hardware development.
• AMD/Xilinx, Altera and/or Microchip design experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of Verilog/SystemVerilog and/or VHDL
• Bachelor's from an accredited college in Electrical or Computer Engineering or bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required for this position.

• Ability to adapt well to change, as the working environment has evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
