Job summary

Brady Corporation in Lexington, KY is seeking a Firmware Engineer to lead development of embedded systems powering our thermal inkjet technologies. You will design core firmware and companion software that drives internal printing platforms and external development kits.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and FPGA engineers to optimize system performance and own the firmware architecture, code reviews, and external customer documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing firmware for embedded microcontrollers in high-speed printing systems.
• Experience creating desktop applications and APIs interfacing with hardware.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and FPGA engineers to optimize printing performance.
• Manage software development lifecycle, testing pipelines, and version control.
• Define the firmware architecture and draft external documentation for customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, debug, and optimize firmware for embedded microcontrollers.
• Develop robust desktop applications and APIs interfacing with hardware.
• Collaborate with EE/Mech/FPGA teams to optimize printing systems.
• Lead code reviews and establish best practices for the firmware team.
