Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego, CA, seeks a Firmware Engineer 2 to help build our foundation from the ground up in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work on cutting-edge FPGA/embedded systems, collaborate closely with leadership, and implement engineering practices that support our mission and growth.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 2+ years in FPGA/embedded development, with hands-on experience using Xilinx Vivado/Vitis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of FPGA/Embedded development experience.
• Experience with Xilinx toolchain (Vivado/Vitis).
• Proficient in C/C++ with real-time embedded focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA based solutions utilizing hybrid C/C++ microprocessor and HDL fabric architectures.
• Design interfaces to ADCs, DACs, uC, etc.
• Develop data acquisition and analysis systems to monitor health of subsystems.
• Perform integration and verification testing of hardware and firmware platforms.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold best coding practices.
• Maintain clear and well-structured documentation.
• Work independently and in a team with proactive communication.
• Grow competency through mentorship, curiosity, communication, exposure and initiative.
