Job summary

HFBAC - Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies is seeking a Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer for Robotics in the Bay Area. On-site role focusing on firmware for robotics hardware, including BLDC motor control and real-time systems.

You will work directly with founders, bring up PCBA hardware, and integrate firmware with ROS/DDS to enable seamless robot communication. 3–10 years of embedded experience and a degree in EE/Robotics are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of firmware or embedded experience in C/C++ for motor control or robotics
• Hands-on BLDC motor control experience, including FOC and PWM
• Real-time embedded experience and comfort with low-level protocols
• A degree in electrical engineering, robotics or mechatronics
• You’re comfortable in a hardware lab and thrive without heavy process
• Bonus: robotics startup experience, PCBA bring-up, ROS or DDS
• Real hardware: firmware runs on physical robots, not just in research

Responsibilities
