Job Title

Firmware Engineer

This position requires experience in firmware analysis tools, including Questa, and a deep understanding of static firmware analysis, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC). You will play a key role in supporting firmware development and validation efforts, providing actionable insights, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed firmware analysis using tools to ensure system integrity and reliability.
• Demonstrate practical experience with FPGA tools & technologies.
• Perform static firmware analysis, design and verification including requirements capture, simulation, code coverage, synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis.
• Identify, document, and report vulnerabilities within firmware systems, providing actionable recommendations for resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure firmware meets performance, functionality, and compliance standards.
• Provide technical support for firmware validation and testing efforts.
• Maintain thorough documentation of firmware analysis processes, findings, and recommendations.
• Stay up to date with emerging firmware analysis techniques and tools, actively suggesting improvements.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years' applicable experience. Master's degree preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Proven experience in firmware analysis tools, including Questa and Questa Inspect.
• Understanding of static firmware analysis, CDC, and RDC.
• Experience identifying and reporting vulnerabilities within firmware systems.
• Experience in C/C++, Java, Python, VHDL, HTML, MATLAB.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and communicate technical findings clearly.
• Familiarity with industry standards for firmware development and validation.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with defense or aerospace firmware systems.
• Knowledge of firmware analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies for firmware vulnerabilities.
• Strong documentation skills to maintain detailed records of analysis processes and findings.
