Job summary

Cricut is seeking a Firmware/Electronic Technician to join the Product and Hardware Engineering team in an on-site role. You will develop software and hardware test tools, write unit tests in C for firmware, and perform functional and reliability testing across embedded and wireless systems.

You will troubleshoot circuits, use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and collaborate with FW/SW teams to ensure test coverage and product quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded system testing.
  • 2years of technical/engineering training or an associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generators, power supplies, DMM, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming and debugging C, Python, Dart, and Flutter.

Responsibilities

Job Description

In this position you will work with the engineering team to develop new products and improve existing ones by participating in the design, build, debug and testing processes.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Develop SW and HW test tools and test benches for embedded and wireless systems
  • Develop test automation SW tools for one-off and on-going testing
  • Write unit tests in C for continuous test efforts in the firmware (FW) build system
  • Must be competent in circuit troubleshooting and use of the associated tools (e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generators, power supplies, DMM, etc.)
  • Perform functional and reliability testing.
  • Analyze and report on test results.
  • Build and test electro-mechanical prototypes from concept to production representative samples.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical devices and work with engineering to resolve product issues.

Qualifications
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded system testing. 2years technical/engineering training or associates degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics.
  • Competent is using electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, function generators, power supplies, DMM, etc.)
  • Proficiency in programming and debugging C, Python, Dart, and Flutter
  • Software UI design experience
  • Understanding of low level functions and interfaces in modern MCUs
  • Participate and advise in test driven development of embedded systems
  • Coordinate with FW developers to ensure all major product features are properly bench tested through automated and/or manual testing means for FW deliveries during product development
  • Work with FW and SW quality assurance engineers to ensure proper test coverage
  • Competent in electronic circuit analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Capable of preparing bread board circuit prototypes.
  • Adept in the use of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Power Point and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient at soldering surface mount components.
  • 0201 or larger discrete components
  • QFP, QFN experience is required, BGA experience is a plus
  • Comfortable and capable in using general shop tools.
  • Ability to assemble and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
