Job summary

Rosenbauer America is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and test subsystems for firetrucks. The role involves turning concepts into prototypes and supporting production through cross-functional collaboration with engineering, purchasing, production, service, and sales teams.

The candidate will work on hardware/software solutions, validation programs, and issue resolution within a fast-paced environment focused on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 0-3 years of related mechanical engineering experience required.
• Experience in heavy truck and/or automotive systems preferred.
• SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for efficient assembly and serviceability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and ensures conformance to sub-system specifications and performance requirements.
• Initiates integrated hardware and software solutions to meet sub-system performance while reducing costs.
• Develops and monitors simulation, lab and field validation and test programs; analyzes data.
• Participates on cross-functional teams to implement product and process improvements.
• Ensures compliance with vehicle regulatory requirements and standards (FMVSS, SAE, NFPA).
