Job summary

The City of Canyon Lake is hiring two Firefighter/Paramedics. This is an hourly, non-exempt role with a base hourly range of $22.40–$27.22, plus additional compensation described in the posting. You will work as part of a Fire Department team providing firefighting and EMS services.

Entry-level position requiring high school diploma and Firefighter 1/Paramedic credentials. The role includes extensive training, shift work, and routine maintenance of equipment and stations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in fire science, emergency medicine, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical emergencies; protect life and property.
• Lay and connect hoses; operate pumps and ladders as needed.
• Provide advanced life support and transport preparation.
• Maintain stations, equipment, and apparatus; perform inspections.
• Complete reports and administrative duties; participate in drills and training.
• Assist with public education programs and community risk reduction.
