Forest Grove Fire & Rescue is posting an informational update on hiring for Firefighter - Paramedic or Firefighter - EMT positions. The department will establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies, active for 12 months.

Candidates must complete FireTEAM and PHQ in NTN by 11:59 P.M. on 10/25/2026. CPAT may be submitted via NTN or offered locally if selected. Salary ranges are listed per hour for 48/96 shifts.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older and US citizen.
• High school diploma or GED required with firefighting-related training.
• One year of fire suppression or related emergency services experience.

Responsibilities

• Take FireTEAM exam and complete PHQ via NTN.
• Submit CPAT or PAT as required by process; if selected, PAT offered locally.
• Follow the Forest Grove Fire & Rescue application steps and timelines.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent with firefighting-related training

EMT (Oregon/National) certificate

Paramedic licensure (Oregon NR or NREMT) preferred

NFPA Firefighter 1

NFPA Haz Mat Awareness/Operations
