Job summary

The City of Coalinga seeks a dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic under general supervision to fight fires, mitigate hazards, staff ambulances and participate in prevention activities. Duties include operating engines, ambulances, hose lines and rescue equipment while maintaining safety and teamwork in high‑pressure emergencies.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, Paramedic Certification, California Driver's License, and the ability to obtain Fresno County Paramedic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Paramedic certification required or obtainable within 30 days of appointment.
• Must possess California Driver's License Class C and obtain Class B before completion of probation.

Responsibilities

• Fight fires and staff ambulances to protect life and property.
• Provide advanced and basic life support on scene and during transport.
• Operate and maintain fire apparatus, pumps, hoses and ladders.
• Assist in fire prevention inspections and community programs.
• Respond to alarms during non-duty hours when required.
• Maintain records and reports of emergency medical care procedures.
