Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Paramedic license (California Paramedic License) or NREMT Paramedic Certification, or actively participating in a paramedic internship.
• CPAT Card of Completion issued within the last year from filing deadline.
• Successful completion of Firefighter Candidate Testing Center written exam within the last year from filing deadline.
• Valid Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.
• Proof of vaccination (TDaP, TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Influenza) or titers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, and other emergency and non-emergency situations as part of a 3–4 person crew.
• Perform duties related to emergency fire suppression and basic life support medical care.
• Complete required City of Berkeley and OSFM/NWCG training and examinations to maintain employment eligibility.
