Job summary

The City of Montgomery is conducting an examination process to establish an eligible list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Applicants must meet education and certification requirements and complete a Civil Service process including a written test, agility test, and oral examination scheduled after the written portion.

Additional points may be awarded for holding Ohio EMT-Paramedic, Fire Safety Inspector certifications, prior part-time service with the City, an associate degree, or

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma/GED.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess current Ohio EMT certification and current Ohio Firefighter II certification.
• Must possess current Ohio EMT-Paramedic certification by end of probation (max 18 months).
• Current Ohio Fire Safety Inspector certification is not required but preferred.
• Proof of certifications must be submitted with the application.
• Must pass Civil Service examination process, background check, and post‑offer psych, polygraph, and medical exams.
