Qualifications

• GFSTC Firefighter certification and NPQ Firefighter 1 certification are required.
• EMT-I/Paramedic licensure must be current.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid GA/National Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Responds with assigned fire company to emergencies and directs on scene operations.
• Provides emergency medical care and transports patients as needed.
• Maintains equipment, records, and pre-fire plans; attends training and meetings.
• Coordinates with dispatch and other agencies during incidents.
• Promotes fire safety and prevention in the community.

Education

GFSTC Firefighter certification

NPQ Firefighter 1 certification

Georgia and/or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate/Paramedic license

High School Diploma or GED

Valid US Driver’s License (GA Driver’s License at time of employment)
