The State of South Carolina invites applications for a Firefighter II role with McCrady Fire Department. This position requires responding to emergencies, operating fire apparatus, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.

The incumbent may provide medical assistance at EMR level and assume command on scene when necessary. Applicants must have a high school diploma, Firefighter II certification, and a valid SC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, and Firefighter II (IFSAC/ProBoard) training certification.
• Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license and be able to obtain a federal license if required.
• Must meet NFPA-1582 physical standards with ability to wear SCBA.

Responsabilités

• Respond to fire emergencies, rescues, hazmat and medical calls on a military installation.
• Operate fire apparatus and perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Provide medical assistance at EMR level and assist in scene command as needed.
• Work in shifts; 24-hr on/off rotation with ~53-hr workweeks and 106-hr pay periods.
