Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department seeks dedicated individuals to join as Firefighter I, building a rewarding career protecting lives, serving diverse communities, and responding to emergencies with courage, compassion, and professionalism.

Essential employees may be required to report during emergencies or disasters. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications, pass CPAT, and complete the background check as part of the selection process.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license at the time of application.
• Must pass a written examination.
• Must pass the Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) process.
• Must pass a Background Investigation.

Responsabilités

• Provides basic and/or advanced life support, first responder, and pre-hospital emergency medical care within applicable regulations.
• Drives, operates, inspects, maintains, and cleans fire apparatus and/or other vehicles.
• Assists in getting equipment and apparatus prepared for further alarms; maintains apparatus, equipment, station, and grounds.
• Participates in fire drills and training exercises; conducts fire prevention programs in schools; builds positive relationships with the community.

Formation

High School Diploma or GED recognized by Maryland State Board of Education
