Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Health License as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher.
• Must have current CPR/AED Certification.
• Must pass physical and Fit Test for SCBA.
• Must obtain and maintain annual Hazardous Materials Technician Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120).
• Must obtain and maintain annual Confined Space and Rope Rescue Certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146).
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of facilities; deter crime and rule infractions.
• Detect and report suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts at or near posts.
• Respond to emergencies, fight fires, mitigate hazards, and perform basic life support (BLS).
• Operate firefighting tools and equipment and wear SCBA as needed.
