Job summary

Galveston Fire Department is seeking a dedicated firefighter in Galveston, TX to respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, provide rescue and medical services, and operate fire apparatus in service calls.

The position requires graduation from an accredited fire academy, EMT certification, and a high school diploma. You will participate in training, perform equipment checks, and engage with the community through tours and education programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; and graduation from an accredited fire academy.
• TCFP Intermediate Fire certification.
• Intermediate EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents; provide rescue and fire suppression.
• Operate fire apparatus to respond to emergency service calls.
• Prepare activity reports and conduct vehicle/equipment checks.
• Maintain the assigned fire station and equipment; conduct building/grounds maintenance.
• Participate in required training sessions and community demonstrations.
