The East Hanover Fire Department seeks dedicated individuals to join as a Paid Firefighter/EMT, serving the community through fire suppression, EMS, and public safety. This role demands professionalism, teamwork, and a strong commitment to service in challenging environments.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, performing firefighting duties, providing BLS/EMT care, training, equipment readiness, fire prevention, and community outreach, with opportunities for ongoing development

Competenze

• Must possess Firefighter 1 Certification issued by NJ Division of Fire Safety.
• Must hold valid EMT certification issued by NJ OEMS.
• CPR-BLS certification required.
• Driver's license valid in New Jersey.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass background check and fitness tests.
• English reading, writing and speaking ability essential.

Mansioni

• Respond to emergency calls including fires, medical, accidents and hazards.
• Perform interior and exterior firefighting duties and rescues.
• Provide Basic Life Support and EMT care to patients.
• Attend training, drills and continue certifications.
• Operate and maintain firefighting apparatus and gear.
• Conduct fire prevention and community outreach activities.
• Assist with station and vehicle maintenance and light repairs.

Conoscenze

Firefighter 1 Certification

EMT Certification

CPR-BLS Certification

Valid Driver's License

High School Diploma or GED
