Job summary
City of Mountain View is seeking dedicated Firefighter EMT or Lateral Firefighter Paramedic to join the Suppression Division. You will protect the community through emergency response, prevention, education, and service, under a Fire Captain, delivering pre-hospital care and fire suppression.
Ideal candidates have fire service experience, a valid EMT or Paramedic credential, and the ability to meet state and department requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- California State Fire Training Firefighter 1 Certificate or Fire Academy Certificate.
- For Firefighter EMT applicants: Valid National Registry EMT certification; Santa Clara County EMT credential within 6 months of appointment.
- For Firefighter Paramedic applicants: Valid Paramedic certification; Santa Clara County accreditation within 6 months of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Respond to fire, medical, rescue, and other emergency incidents.
- Provide emergency medical care and fire suppression services.
- Perform rescue, hazard mitigation, and related emergency operations.
- Conduct fire prevention inspections and public education activities.
- Maintain equipment, apparatus, stations, and operational readiness.
- Participate in training and support department operations as assigned.
